Our Army Cadet Program

What Is The Army Cadet Program?

Our Army Cadet Program is patterned after the United States Army & US Army Cadet Corps. Boys & Girls are accepted into the Army Cadet Program at 9 years of age and older, and advance in rate according to their skills and achievements. As an Army Cadet successfully passes his or her assigned course, they will advance in rank and experience. As an Army Cadet gains experience in military procedures and drill proficiency, various opportunities will open up to them. Eventually, one day they will be in a command position passing on the knowledge that they gained as a cadet.

Our Army Cadets take a wide variety of courses, starting with Recruit Training. There, they learn all the basic fundamentals of military drill, procedures and protocol. Like in the Army, as a cadet nears the completion of each of their assigned courses, they must successfully pass the strike test to achieve their next rank. Failure to successfully pass the strike test results in the cadet repeating the course over.

Our cadets must take and successfully pass the following courses in order to achieve the next rate:

Cadet Recruit Training (CRT)
Advanced Cadet Training (ACT)
Navigation
Squad Leader School
Basic NCO School
Standard First Aid & CPR
Advanced NCO School
Senior NCO School
Officer's Candidate School

Beside taking various courses and passing the strike tests, each cadet rate has a minimum Time In Grade before a cadet can be considered for promotion. Each minimum Time In Grade coincides with the rate and the course taken.

From time to time, a cadet may be considered for an accelerated or early promotion. Such consideration is give to a highly motivated cadet the proves themselves through outstanding class work, drill proficiency, test scores, unselfish devotion to duty, and outstanding community service.
